ITV to host 2012 PhoneBrain Awards
Thursday 5th January 2012
The 2012 annual awards event for the PhoneBrain national education project, managed and delivered by CoSpA on behalf of PhonepayPlus, will be hosted at ITV’s head office in London on 24th January.
PhoneBrain educates young people on how to use phone-paid services safely at the same time as challenging them to develop their own enterprising ideas for new phone services and apps that benefit their local community and/or society at large. Now in its third year, the project is funded by PhonepayPlus, the UK regulator for phone-paid services, and supported by Live UnLtd, Clubs for Young People, ITV and The X-Factor.
At the awards event, the nine winners of the PhoneBrain Enterprise Competition, drawn from schools and youth clubs, will have the chance to pitch their ideas to a panel of industry experts (covering organisations such as BT, O2 and Three in addition to the PhoneBrain partners) – with seed funding on offer to help winners further develop their new service ideas and ultimately take them to market.
