CoSpA helping O2 extend global tech start-ups scheme
Monday 6th February 2012
CoSpA is now working with O2 to help extend Telefonica’s international Wayra programme that aims to accelerate tech business start-ups.
Wayra means ‘wind’ in Quechua, an indigenous language from South America where Wayra first launched in 2011. The programme is now up and running in seven South American countries, as well as in Spain. In each country, Telefonica’s target is to identify 10 IT start-ups to accelerate through a mix of financial, mentoring, networking and technological support, plus everyday use of a dedicated, physical Wayra office hub.
CoSpA’s first role has been to help organise and facilitate a one-day mission to Madrid, home to Telefonica’s HQ, in February 2012 to learn about Wayra’s work in Spain to date.
