Cospa helps BITC connect businesses and charities

Monday 15th July 2013

Cospa has been busy this month working with Business in the Community (BITC) in support of The Big Connect event, hosted on 12th July at the Business Design Centre in London in the presence of HRH Prince of Wales.

The purpose of the event was to celebrate and grow BITC’s Business Connectors programme, which sees executives seconded into their communities for a year to make useful connections between businesses and charities in support of social initiatives. Companies participating in the sprogramme include Sainsbury’s, Carillion, BT, M&S, Lloyds TSB and Fujitsu.

More than 1,000 people attended The Big Connect from throughout the UK, including current and former Business Connectors, social entrepreneurs, community organisations and senior business leaders, and contrbutors on the day included Spacehive (talking about crowd-funding), NCVO (National Council for Voluntary Organisations), and UnLtd, the foundation for social entrepreneurs.

Cospa Director Oli Barrett was on hand as master of ceremonies, and also worked closely with BITC in the run-up to the event.
