Big Music Project roadshow kicks off in London
Friday 23rd May 2014
A series of UK-wide roadshow events, delivered by Cospa and designed to give young people an inspirational insight into skills development and work opportunities across the music industry, kicks off on 8th June at Finsbury Park, London.
The roadshow is part of The Big Music Project led by the BPI, BRIT Awards, Global Radio and UK Youth, and supported by the Big Lottery Fund, to create development opportunities through music for 14-24 year-olds in deprived areas.
Running throughout June and July, the roadshow will comprise 12 one-day events throughout UK, with up to 80 young people participating at each event, drawn from local youth clubs and groups.
Comprising a range of practical knowledge-sharing workshops and sessions led by music industry experts and guests, each roadshow event will cover areas such as the staging and marketing of live music events, multi-media journalism, and business enterprise and self-employment opportunities.
Industry experts contributing at the first event in London include DJ/presenter Coco Cole and producer/songwriter/musician Dan Dare, while the Cospa event facilitation team will be led by Fusion, founder of Industry In The Streets.
